McGann, Beaneaters Beat Cardinals, 13-8
Dan McGann made an impact in the 13-8 Boston win over St. Louis. McGann, who is tied for 10th in the NL in runs scored with 46, went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Boston reliever Bill Sowders was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Pink Hawley took the loss. Boston, at 33-27, holds down 4th place in the National League.

Boston used the clutch hitting of Bobby Lowe to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Beaneaters the lead, 9-8. For the game, Lowe had 2 singles and 1 double in 6 at-bats.

"We came out aggressive," said Beaneaters manager Adam Engelke. "We came out swinging the bats."
