Beaneaters Pull Off Thrilling 5-4 Win in Extras
New York right fielder Mike Tiernan had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Tiernan was 4 for 5 with 4 singles and a walk, even as Boston beat the Giants, 5-4. The 4th-place Beaneaters now have a win-loss record of 31-26.

The most significant at-bat for Boston came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the ninth. Beaneaters catcher Tom Daly hit a run-scoring single to win the game.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Daly told the Boston Daily.
