Beaneaters Need Extra Frames to Get Past Colts
The Boston Beaneaters turned back the Chicago Colts, 9-8, at South End Grounds 1894-1915. Bobby Lowe, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 4 for 5 with 2 triples, a double, and a walk, while scoring 5 runs and driving in 2. The Beaneaters saw their win-loss record go to 27-21. At the same time, the Colts fell to 28-20.

The Beaneaters procured the win, in large part because of first baseman Dan McGann. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

"What a buzz," said Lowe after it was over.
