The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Swansea fans at Copper Lords Park.

The Swansea Copper Lords topped the Wrexham Druids, 4-1, in Great British Base-Off action at Copper Lords Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Swansea pitcher Jon Schofield. Schofield, now 1-2, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 5, and allowing 1 run.

The Druids had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Copper Lords going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 32-year old center fielder Alastair Crossley came to the plate. Crossley hit a run-scoring triple on a 1-0 changeup from Wrexham hurler David Hamilton. It was Crossley's 1st triple of the year.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Schofield said after the game.

Wrexham, with the loss, is 3-4.
