The Coventry Motors weathered a fine game by Sheffield right fielder Arthur Byrne to upend the Talons, 8-6, at Motors Field. Byrne went 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Coventry has a record of 6-3.

Michael Dawson dealt the Talons a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with the bases loaded and Coventry leading 4-1, Dawson, who finished 3rd in the GBBO in slugging percentage with .523 in 1895, hit a 1-1 curveball for a 2-run single.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Dawson.
