Arcadians Sink Druids, 2-1
|
The Cardiff Arcadians did just enough to sneak past the Wrexham Druids, 2-1, at Arcadians Field. Cardiff pitcher Morgan Pickwick, in particular, had a standout performance. Pickwick, now 2-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 1, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The save went to Ewan Thomson, number 1 for him.
Gelmiro Gómez, the Cardiff catcher, contributed a 2-run single in the bottom of the second inning to make the score 2-0, Arcadians. For the game, Gómez was 1 for 3, while adding 2 RBI.
"Anytime we get it going, it puts a smile on my face," said Pickwick.
The loss drops Wrexham to 2-3.
