The Newport Stevedores picked up a win at Arcadians Field, knocking off the Cardiff Arcadians, 7-4. On the mound for Newport was left-hander Douglas Stevens, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Stevedores raised their record to 2-3.

Dermot Drake made it 5-4 in favor of Newport when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with one out in the top of the ninth. The Stevedores went on to win.
