Culebra wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Facundo Cruz, falling to the Cayey Toritos, 4-3. Cruz threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Fernando Sandoval was the winner. Over 9 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with 4 walks and 2 strikeouts. The triumph makes Cayey 42-83.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, an error by the Tortugas allowed the Toritos to score the winning run.

After the game, Cayey manager Getulio Palomares applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
