The Dorado Guardianes got a superb performance from catcher Héctor Gutiérrez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Canovanas. The Chupacabras won the game, 6-5. Gutiérrez was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times. Canovanas pitcher Marcos Venegas got the win. He's now 3-2. Julio César Salazar was tagged with the loss. The first-place Chupacabras have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.

Dionisio Quintana was the walk-off hero for Canovanas. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Chupacabras pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Canovanas manager Alejandro Estrada.
