The Jayuya Cerros and Guanica Amigos lit up the scoreboard.

Guanica got a terrific game from shortstop Daniel Quintero. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Jayuya, 12-9. Quintero went 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs. Jayuya reliever Pedro García was the winner. His record is now 3-1. Adelio Sigala took the loss. Eduardo Corona was credited with the save for Jayuya, his 6th of the season.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Poncio de la Rosa came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Guanica pitcher Adelio Sigala, he hit a 2-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Jayuya on top, 10-9.

"It feels good, just a great win all around," de la Rosa said after the game.

The second-place Cerros are now 61-60, the Amigos 69-51.
