The Carolina Gigantes defeated the Vieques Esqueletos, 4-2, in Liga Hostos action at Jardines de Carolina. Carolina pitcher Marco Seda had a standout performance. Seda went the distance for Carolina. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. The third-place Gigantes now have a win-loss record of 52-65.

In the bottom of the fifth, with Carolina leading 2-1, Emérico Pérez hit a sinker from Gaspar Reveles for a run-scoring single, giving the Gigantes the lead, 3-1.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Pérez.
