The Ceiba Picudos defeated the Aguas Buenas Mulos, 8-5, at Campo de los Picudos today. Leading the charge for Ceiba was first baseman Raúl Andrade. He went 4-5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Enrique Rodríguez got the win, improving to 22-15. He worked 9 innings, giving up 5 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Ceiba is now 52-63.
With runs few and far between, the Picudos had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Ceiba came in the bottom of the fourth inning, when pitcher Enrique Rodríguez delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Adrián Jaso and made the score 2-1, Picudos. Rodríguez threw 9.0 innings of 7-hit ball.
