Yabucoa third baseman Rafael Verduzco had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Verduzco went 3-4 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, even as Anasco beat the Azucareros, 7-3. The Fundadores saw their win-loss record go to 37-73. At the same time, the Azucareros fell to 47-63.

Anasco used the timely hitting of Adelmo García to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Fundadores on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Good win for us," said García. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
