Proceres Walk It Off for 61st Win of Season
Cayey shortstop Eduardo Corral had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Corral was 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2, even as Barranquitas beat the Toritos, 11-10. Gerardo Escobar earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 20-15. The first-place Proceres lifted their record to 61-41.

With the game on the line, Ruy Barrera came to bat in the bottom of the ninth. And the Barranquitas left fielder came through, cracking a run-scoring single off Mamerto Torres, the Cayey pitcher.

"We'll savor this win," Barrera told the Barranquitas Citizen, "then get ready for the next game."
