The Carolina Gigantes picked up a win at Jardines de Carolina, taking down the Toa Baja Llaneros, 6-4. Starting pitcher Abilio López was a big reason why. López got the win, improving to 18-14. He allowed 8 hits and walked 3 over 9 innings. López allowed 4 runs. The Gigantes saw their win-loss record go to 46-54. At the same time, the Llaneros fell to 55-45.

Carolina took a 5-4 lead on Alfredo Infante's 12th triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Infante hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Toa Baja pitcher Uriel Corrales visibly frustrated.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said López.
