The Carolina Gigantes defeated the Caguas Criollos, 11-9, at Parque de los Criollos today. Leading the charge for Carolina was right fielder Emérico Pérez. He went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Raúl Zavala locked down his 4th save. Carolina is now 45-54, while Caguas is 21-78.

Alfredo Infante hit a run-scoring triple off Elía Báez in the top of the eighth, which put the Gigantes in front, 9-8. Infante had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.

"It was one of those games where both teams were swinging the bat well," Infante said.
