Behind an impressive start by Gabriel Aragón, Vega Baja beat Yauco, 2-1. Vega Baja is in third place in the Liga Betances Costa Norteña with a record of 36-62.

Vega Baja used the timely hitting of Abelardo Quintero to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Caneros on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Yauco manager Jaime Rivera.
