Despite a great performance by Villalba right fielder Emanuel Acosta, the Toa Baja Llaneros defeated the Avancinos by the score of 8-7 at Estadio de Toa Baja. Acosta was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Honorio García got the save, his 5th in 6 chances. The victory gives Toa Baja a record of 55-42.

The Llaneros beat the Avancinos in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Osmundo Borrego produced in the bottom of the eighth. Batting against Campos, Borrego gave his team a 8-7 lead when he hit a 2-run single.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Borrego. "And not try to do too much."
