The Villalba Avancinos defeated the Trujillo Alto Macabeos, 5-4, in Liga Hostos action at Estadio de Villalba. Villalba pitcher Nicandro Amado had a standout performance. Amado went 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 18-10. At 62-30, the Avancinos are currently first in the Liga Hostos Metro Sur.

Leo Rosales was the walk-off hero for Villalba. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Avancinos left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
