9-6 Loss Extends Florida Losing Streak
|
Sebastián Rodríguez did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Florida Mogotes from losing, 9-6, to the Naranjito Changos at Parque de los Changos. Rodríguez went 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The winner was Luis Oliveras, who threw 114 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 6 runs on 9 hits. Florida is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
The Changos benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the seventh. With Tito Sánchez at bat and Naranjito leading 7-6, the Florida miscue allowed Naranjito to plate 1 and take the lead, 8-6.
"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager Britomaro Erazo. "But it's got to translate into wins."
