Hamilton Stars in 19-4 Cardinals Win
A 4-RBI performance from Billy Hamilton, who finished 4th in the NL in triples with 19 in 1888, helped the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 19-4. The winner was Ed Seward, who threw 147 pitches over 9 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 9 hits. The Cardinals have hit the ground running, raising their record to 8-3. While it's still too soon to talk about St. Louis hoisting their 1st World Series trophy, fans are getting excited about their strong start.
