Senators Lose Late, 7-6
The Cleveland Spiders did just enough to secure a victory over the Washington Senators, 7-6, at Boundary Field. Nobody did more than left fielder Jocko Fields. Cy Young was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save. The Spiders go to 48-69, putting them 7th in the American League.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the eighth, with the game tied, Ed McKean was at the plate when Cleveland scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Spiders to go in front, 7-6.

"Good win for us," said McKean. "We'll lace up our cleats and go after the next one."
