Pickering Helps Louisville Cruise to 12-3 Win
|
The Louisville Colonels had no problem beating the Washington Senators, 12-3, at Eclipse Park II. Ollie Pickering led the way. He went 4 for 5 with 2 triples and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for Louisville. Chris Paff picked up the win with 9 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 10 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 21-15. Louisville is now 70-45, Washington 63-52.
The Colonels benefited from an error in the bottom of the second inning. Louisville was leading 2-1 when Fred Clarke hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Louisville in front, 4-1.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Clarke told the Louisville Bulletin.
