The St. Louis Browns wiggled past the Cleveland Spiders, 5-4, at League Park I. The win was highlighted by the performance of St. Louis pitcher Nat Hudson. The first-place Browns have a one-game lead in their division.

Hudson went the distance -- and then some -- for the Browns, throwing 15 innings of 13-hit ball against the Spiders, striking out 4.

"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," Hudson said in postgame remarks. "Soon enough, the finish line will be in sight."
