Baltimore Beats Washington, 4-1
Baltimore and Washington got after it at Union Park.

Baltimore starter Matt Kilroy put a stranglehold on the Washington offense. The left-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Orioles to a 4-1 win. The 5th-place Orioles have a record of 51-62.

Tommy Tucker, who finished 3rd in the AL in stolen bases with 103 in 1889, aided the Baltimore cause with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman went 1-4 with a hit by pitch.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Tucker told the Baltimore Bulletin.
