Brewers Deal Colonels 5-4 Setback
The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Louisville Colonels, 5-4. Milwaukee pitcher and Chicago, Illinois, native Frank Meinke led the way. Meinke went 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 10 hits, walked 4, and struck out 2. His record improves to 13-18. The Brewers, at 43-60, sit in 6th place in the American League.

The Brewers took the lead in the bottom of the seventh when Dick Burns banged a two-out single. Milwaukee had been trailing 4-3, but Burns hit a 0-1 slider from Chris Paff for a 2-run single.

"Winning is hard sometimes," said Brewers manager Jerry Barger. "This one was nice to get."
