In a low-scoring affair between the Columbus Solons and the St. Louis Browns, pitcher Larry McKeon was the difference between victory and defeat. The Columbus right-hander earned accolades in the 2-1 Solons win. The 7th-place Solons raised their record to 42-61.

Columbus second baseman Bart Hazelton gave his club a productive at-bat in the top of the fifth inning. With a runner on 3rd and the Solons leading 1-0, Hazelton hit a run-scoring single.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said McKeon.
