Gettinger Hits Two Dingers, Browns Win, 4-2
|
Tom Gettinger had a 3-RBI game, during St. Louis's 4-2 triumph over the Columbus Solons. Gettinger contributed 1 single and 2 home runs to the cause. St. Louis is now 63-39, while Columbus is 41-61.
Gettinger contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for St. Louis in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Gettinger took a fastball from John Kirby and stroked the home run to right. His 7th home run of the season allowed the Browns to leap in front, 2-1.
Gettinger told the St. Louis Gazette: "Don't care what other people think. Tom knows who Tom is."
