The Washington-Milwaukee game took longer to complete because of the rain. But it was worth it for the home team in the end.

The Washington Senators did just enough to secure a victory over the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-5, at Boundary Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Ed Morris. At 55-45, the Senators are currently 4th in the American League.

In the bottom of the ninth, with no one out and the game tied, 5-5, pinch hitter Charlie Abbey won it for Washington. With a runner on 2nd, Abbey hit a 2-1 slider from Kyle Duxbury for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 6-5 win.

Morris called the triumph "a good team win."
