Senators Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally
|
The Washington Senators topped the Louisville Colonels, 7-4, at Boundary Field. Washington shortstop Dan Coogan banged out 1 single and 1 double, while driving in 3 runs. The Senators, at 52-41, have now won 4 straight.
Coogan had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-2 fastball from Fritz Clausen, he banged a bases-clearing double to left, giving the Senators a 6-3 lead. It was the 5th double of the year for Coogan.
Senators manager Pony Sager praised Coogan after the game. "I keep telling everyone," he said, "'Don't go to sleep on this kid.'"
