Reds Stick Brewers with 8-3 Loss
|
The Boston Reds defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, 8-3, in American League action at Congress Street Grounds. Joe Flynn pulled his weight. The 14-year veteran went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Reds, at 52-38, sit in third place in the American League.
There was more than one reason the Reds beat the Brewers, but Flynn's big at-bat in the bottom of the second was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run home run.
"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Flynn. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
