The Columbus Solons topped the Louisville Colonels, 3-1, in American League action at Recreation Park II. The standout performance belonged to Columbus pitcher and Mooresville, North Carolina, native Amos Rusie. Columbus is now 36-53. Louisville is 56-33.

With one out in the bottom of the second, Bill Clymer barreled up a slider from Mike Jones. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Solons in front, 3-0.
