Senators Losing Streak at 5 After Extra-Inning Loss to Solons
Fans who congregated at Boundary Field were treated to extra-inning drama.

Washington got a terrific game from right fielder Billy Lush. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Columbus, 5-4. Lush went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Henry Boyle nailed down his 1st save.

The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Al Maul came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Washington pitcher Ed Morris, he hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Columbus on top, 5-4.

"The game of baseball will test you," said Fraley Rogers, the Columbus skipper. "This one tested us."

Washington has now lost 5 consecutive games.
