Montaneses Suffer 3-2 Setback
The Carolina Gigantes racked up a win at Parque de los Montañeses, bumping off the Utuado Montaneses, 3-2. Abilio López, who started for Carolina, pitched effectively for his team. The second-place Gigantes raised their record to 35-37.

Belerofón Vera dealt the Montaneses a blow in the top of the fifth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Carolina leading 1-0, Vera hit a 2-1 cutter for a run-scoring single.

"Anytime we get it going, it puts a smile on my face," said López.
