Valencianos Snatch Late Win
The Juncos Valencianos took Cabo Rojo pitcher Manuel Junquera's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Parque de los Combatientes. The final score had Juncos getting past the Combatientes, 6-4. Junquera went 9 innings and allowed 6 runs, striking out 5. Juncos reliever Práxedes Montes picked up the win, raising his record to 3-0. Manuel Junquera was tagged with the loss. The third-place Valencianos lifted their record to 25-46.

Juncos shortstop Solón Valdez gave his club a productive at-bat in the top of the ninth inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd and the Valencianos trailing 4-3, Valdez hit a 2-run double.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Valdez, "and then get after it again."
