The Toa Alta Poetas downed the Caguas Criollos, 9-3, at Parque de los Poetas. Pedro Sánchez led the way, going 3-for-3 for Toa Alta. Toa Alta reliever Benedicto Martínez got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Jesús Nevárez was tagged with the loss. Toa Alta is now 49-19, Caguas 13-54.
Toa Alta benefited from a miscue in the bottom of the first inning. Toa Alta was leading 1-0 when Enrique Merino hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Toa Alta in front, 3-0.
