The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.

The Corozal Plataneros defeated the San Sebastian Patrulleros, 11-5. Doing his part was first baseman Natalino Vázquez, who was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Gualterio Ramírez, credited with the win, is now 7-14. He allowed 5 runs on 8 hits in 9 innings.

The Plataneros got an important contribution from third baseman Mateo Torres, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a 1-0 sinker into center for a 2-run double. It was his 17th double of the season and put the Plataneros ahead, 6-4.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Torres.

Corozal currently is in third place in the Liga Hostos Cordillera Este at 25-42.
