Carolina got a terrific game from center fielder Roberto Martínez. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Aibonito, 8-7. Martínez was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. The Polluelos' win now puts them at 35-29.

Had Marcos Arviso not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Arviso hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 8-7, in favor of the Polluelos.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Carolina manager Julián Febus. "The effort was great."
