The Mayaguez Capitanes picked up a win at Parque de los Capitanes, knocking off the Anasco Fundadores, 5-1. Starting pitcher Manuel Martínez played a key role in the triumph. Mayaguez has rattled off 4 straight wins.

Tied up with the Fundadores in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Capitanes got a boost from catcher Zacarías Chávez. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Chávez saw a 1-2 fastball from Menelao Magaña and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Mayaguez on top, 2-1.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Martínez said after the game.
