Late Magic Gets Patillas 4-3 Win
|
Patillas picked up a win at Campo de los Picudos, toppling the Ceiba Picudos, 4-3. Pitcher Matías Cardona was one of the reasons the Cuervos triumphed. Cardona went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. His record improves to 11-12. The save went to Osiris Román, his 7th this season.
This game was not decided until late. With two out in the top of the ninth, Gabino Sánchez reached on an error by the P, driving in 1 run. The Cuervos took the lead, 4-3.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Sánchez told the Patillas Daily.
At 35-27, the Cuervos are currently second in the Liga Betances Sureste.
