The exploits of second baseman Hernando Cabrera, who finished 3rd in the LH in hits with 177 in 1889, helped the Juana Diaz Reyes defeat the Guayama Brujos, 9-2. Cabrera went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The second-place Reyes have won 7 in a row.

With Juana Diaz leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Cabrera hit a 2-run single off Guayama hurler Ernesto Cerda. It was the 90th hit of the season for Cabrera and put his team ahead, 4-1.

"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Ismael Sánchez.
