Contreras Propels Atleticos to 11-9 Win
The San German Atleticos downed the Manati Atenienses, 11-9. The hitting star was left fielder Carmelo Contreras. Contreras went 3-5 with 2 triples. He drove in 6 runs and scored once for the Atleticos. The winner was Pacífico Eguizábal in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Leandro Suárez took the loss. The Atleticos improved to 18-39.

Contreras contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing triple, for San German in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 4-2, Contreras took a curveball from Leandro Suárez and stroked the triple to right-center. His 6th triple of the season allowed the Atleticos to leap in front, 5-4.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Contreras. "And not try to do too much."
