Boston catcher Lave Cross had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Cleveland Spiders, 11-6. Boston bumps their record to 35-31 with the win.

The Reds benefited from an error in the bottom of the sixth inning. Boston was trailing 5-4 when Scott Stratton hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Boston in front, 6-5.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Ed Caskin.
