Boston third baseman Kieron Goodall helped his team beat the Columbus Solons, 8-4. Goodall went 3 for 4 for the Reds. Toad Ramsey, credited with the win, is now 6-11. He allowed 4 runs on 13 hits in 9 innings. The win makes Boston 30-26.

Toad Ramsey dealt the Solons a blow in the top of the sixth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Boston leading 5-4, Ramsey, who finished 2nd in the AL in strikeouts with 142 in 1894, hit a first pitch changeup for a run-scoring single.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Goodall said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
