Duffee Batters Milwaukee Big Time
Charlie Duffee got the glory and the headlines today, but the Milwaukee Brewers left with the win. The St. Louis center fielder easily handled the Brewers pitching, going 5-for-5, but his St. Louis Browns came out on the short end of the 9-8 score.

Duffee told BNN reporters in the postgame interview he would happily trade "three or four" of his hits for a win.

"Heck, maybe even all of them," he said with a laugh. "Right now, it just seems like one loss in a long season but who knows what it could mean at the end."

Charlie Duffee singled in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Dick Burns in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

This season Duffee is swinging the bat at a .292 rate with 66 hits in 226 at-bats. To date he has hit 4 home runs, scored 39 runs and driven in 28.
