In a remarkable performance, Columbus Solons starter Dan Sheehan beat the Cleveland Spiders 5-0 in an impressive 7-hit shutout.

"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."

The Solons hurler finished with 2 strikeouts and 1 walk. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.

"It was a rough one for my guys," Cleveland manager Robert Armstrong said following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."

This year Sheehan has gone 6-7 with an ERA of 3.78 and has 37 strikeouts in 126.1 innings.
