Colonels Defeat Solons, 11-9
This fight went fifteen rounds and the Colonels came out the winner.

Getting a good performance from pitcher Ad Gumbert, the Louisville Colonels defeated the Columbus Solons, 11-9. Gumbert came in in relief and pitched to 24 batters for the Colonels. The Colonels have an impressive 29-16 record.

Honus Wagner drove in one run, while scoring 2 times for Louisville. The 23-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the 15th. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 8-8 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Amos Rusie. It was his 33rd RBI of the season.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Wagner.
