Slumping Solons Lose Again, 8-3
|
Washington rode a decent outing from starter Ed Morris to victory over the Columbus Solons. The final score was 8-3. Morris got the win, improving to 4-4. He allowed 8 hits and walked 3 over 9 innings. Morris allowed 3 runs. The Solons, now 6-16, continue their poor start.
It could have been a different outcome for Washington, had it not been for Tim O'Rourke, the 32-year old first baseman . O'Rourke contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the third inning to put Washington up, 2-0.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Washington manager Pony Sager.
