Losing Streak Continues for Brewers with 4-1 Loss to Spiders
Cleveland starter John Henry put a stranglehold on the Milwaukee offense. The left-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Spiders to a 4-1 win. In 9 innings, Henry surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The Spiders, with just their 7th win so far in 1897, have yet to catch fire.

The Spiders got a big at-bat from catcher Kid Baldwin. For the game, Baldwin went 1-4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 3rd triple of the season gave Cleveland a 3-1 lead.

"We'll hit the hot tub tonight in good spirits tonight," said Baldwin.
