Las Marias got a terrific game from catcher José Bernal. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Lares, 6-4. Bernal was 2 for 4 with a triple and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win gives Lares a record of 5-0.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Luis Vega came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Las Marias pitcher Aquiles Ledesma, he hit a first pitch changeup for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Lares on top, 6-4.

"It feels good, just a great win all around," Vega said after the game.
